Digital Health

A Passion for Health Technology

August 16, 2016 Janet Kennedy Get Social Health, Podcast 00:26:32 0 Comments

Many physicians have discovered a passion for health technology, but not many have taken an 180-degree turn into the digital health field right out of residency. Jonathan O’Donnell did and has found his unique medical perspective to be an asset to the programs he has joined like Startup Weekend Health, iScribes and the design thinking workshop he co-lead with Katie Donohue McMillan. In our conversation, Jonathan and I discussed his medical school training at Duke University and how he caught the digital health bug. Listen to our conversation or catch the time stamps below.

Physician suicide letters - answered

Physician Suicide – Is medical school killing our doctors?

February 9, 2016 Janet Kennedy Get Social Health, Podcast 00:45:53 2 Comments

Dr. Pamela Wible is a physician calling for a change. The author of  “Physician Suicide Letters – Answered,” Pamela addresses the public health crisis that is the high physician suicide rate. Pamela was brave enough to write about her own suicidal thoughts generated by the abusive medical school experience and the corporate mentality in the practice of medicine. She found that after sharing her thoughts, many other medical students wrote to her to share their experiences. Talking about suicide is still a taboo subject, but by writing this book she has found many others want to share their experiences.
